Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Lock Ten Studio LLC ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Products this policy covers
This is the single privacy policy for all Lock Ten Studio products:
- Walkthrough: Site Reports (iPhone and Android app for builders)
- Architect Walkthrough (iOS app for architects)
- Handover (homeowner manual app provided to homeowners by their builder)
- The Install (setup and onboarding service)
- Lock Ten Field Notes (email newsletter)
Walkthrough: Site Reports and Architect Walkthrough work the same way and handle your data the same way; where this policy says "the apps," it means those two. Handover is provided to homeowners by their builder and works differently; the section below covers it.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly:
- Email address when you subscribe to our newsletter (Lock Ten Field Notes) or contact us
- Account information if you sign up for one of the apps (name, email, business name) or The Install (name, email, business details provided in the intake questionnaire)
- Content you capture in the apps such as photos, voice narration, the transcripts, reports, and punch lists generated from them, and project notes. Most voice capture is transcribed into text on your device; the audio itself never leaves your phone. Recorded meetings are the exception: that audio is uploaded and sent to a third-party transcription service to produce text. Your transcripts are sent to a third-party AI service to format documents
- Location in three limited ways. Photos you take can include where they were taken. The apps can use your device's location to notice you've arrived at a project site and offer to open your punch list, and that arrival check happens on your device. And when you add a project address, we convert it to map coordinates using the US Census Bureau geocoding service; when you use daily logs, we send those coordinates, never the address itself, to the National Weather Service to fill in the day's weather
- Usage information such as which features you use and when, tied to your account, so we can understand what's working and improve the product
- Payment information processed through Apple for in-app purchases on iPhone, Google Play for in-app purchases on Android, and Stripe for purchases made on the web. We do not store credit card details on our servers
Handover: what comes from your builder
Handover is given to homeowners by the builder who built their home, so most of what is in the app did not come from the homeowner. In practice:
- Your builder provides your email address so they can give you access to your home. There is no sign-up in the app, and we do not ask you for your name, phone number or address
- Your home's documents come from your builder: the product list for the house, the manuals, care guides, warranty text and the trade contacts. We also retrieve documents that manufacturers publish publicly. This material is your builder's, not ours
- The questions you ask in the app are sent to our server so they can be answered from your home's own documents. Questions pass through our server logs, which rotate on a standard cycle; a stored record of a question is kept only when the app declines to answer it, so we can see where it fell short and improve it
- All of it is used to operate the app and for nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, we do not use it to train AI models and we do not track you across other apps or websites
Homeowners see only their own home. Your builder created your access and can remove it; see Deleting your account if you want it removed.
How we use information
We use the information you provide to:
- Deliver the products and services you've requested (newsletter, the apps, The Install setup)
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Process payments through Stripe
- Improve our products and communicate about updates or related offerings
Sharing of information
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your content to train AI models. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help operate our business: Beehiiv (newsletter email), Resend (app sign-in emails), Stripe and Apple (payments), Google Play (Android payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), Render (hosting), Cloudflare R2 (file storage for photos, audio, and reports), AssemblyAI (meeting audio transcription), the US Census Bureau (converting project addresses to map coordinates), the National Weather Service (the day's weather for daily logs), Anthropic (AI report formatting), OpenAI (document search and answers in Handover), and Sentry (crash diagnostics). Each receives only the data it needs to perform its function
- As required by law or to protect our rights
Email communications
If you subscribe to Lock Ten Field Notes or other Lock Ten Studio communications, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We use Beehiiv to deliver newsletter content.
Your choices
You can:
- Unsubscribe from any email communication using the link in the email
- Request access to or deletion of your information by emailing info@lockten.ai
- Decline to provide information, though some features may be unavailable as a result
Data retention
We keep your account information and the content you capture for as long as your account is active, so the app can show you your past work. We do not keep it indefinitely after you leave: when you delete your account, we remove your personal information and your captured content within 30 days. Server logs that may contain IP addresses rotate on a standard 30-day cycle. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics that cannot be traced back to you may be kept longer. In Handover, a homeowner's access is created and removed by their builder rather than inside the app; when it is removed we delete the email address within 30 days; records of declined questions are kept without names attached, and the home's documents stay with the builder they belong to.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we do our best.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
